Learn How To Draw using Rapid Visualization (Power Drawing)
Rapid visualization (Power Drawing) skills will be presented in hand-generated drawing exercises in an in-depth study of the “language of line” and how it generates visual confidence. This section of the DVD analyses the three keys to drawing authority; form, position and texture. Further, these lessons will inspire students to solve design problems ranging from understanding basic volumes to successfully illustrating complex volumes.
After watching this chapter of the JD Orr Project Special Edition DVD, students will:
Understand the concept of “line” and its infinite language of defining three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional surface.
Begin to visualize objects and space by applying the fundamental principles of the “language of line”.
Establish a new “visual vocabulary” as a result of employing the principles of form, position and texture.
Continue the process of building “visual confidence” by expanding the “form” vocabulary in a solid, sketch-rendering format.
Continue to expand on the power of form, purpose of position and the product of texture and how they work in harmony to generate “visual authority” to generate design ideas.
Focus on creating a diverse platform of object-driven sketch studies that come alive with “acceleration/deceleration”, weight changes in line, tone and texture, light source and shadow.
