The J.D. Orr Project

The J.D. Orr Project is a suite of highly motivational programs focused towards inspiring young people to pursue careers in design, re-inspire the professional designer and to teach confidence and creativity to individuals, business leaders and students. The J.D. Orr Project delivers four main components including Corporate Training, Educational Workshops, Consultation and Design Services, and Instructional DVDs and Materials.

The J.D. Orr Project, LLC is located in Columbus, Ohio. The executive partners include Jim Orr (CEO), Jim Stevenson (CMO) and Tom Balliett (COO).

About Jim "J.D." Orr

Jim “JD” Orr is known around the globe for his passionate approach to design. As the founder of the Advanced Formations Curriculum, Jim has dedicated his life to ignite the creative brilliance in all of us.

Jim graduated from the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. He spent ten years as the executive director of Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Cadillac design studios. Jim spent an additional two years at General Motors as the corporate education liaison coordinator of Advanced Vehicle Operations and Director of World Car Vehicle Design at Opel Design Headquarters. After his tour with GM, Jim served as faculty professor with the Industrial Design Department at the Columbus College of Art and Design as well as teaching creativity and motivational workshops in his design studio.
